Star Jumper is a roguelike game that's supposedly inspired by the great FTL (Faster Than Light), in which you explore the galaxy aboard a spaceship. It won't be easy, though. Each game is unique, with different events, enemies, and locations to put your decision-making skills to the test.
Just as in the aforementioned FTL, you need to manage several different resources if you want to get to a good port. The most important resources to manage are fuel and money – essential for moving around the map and buying upgrades for your ship. That said, you also need to manage your crew and even the ship's systems.
The combat system in Star Jumper is practically identical to the one in FTL. Each time you use a weapon, you need to wait for it to cool down before you can use it again. Obviously you should aim your forces toward the part of the rival ship you want to damage. For example, it's often a good idea to try to damage a specific module of the rival ship.
There's additional content to be unlocked in Star Jumper as well. At the beginning you have just one ship to use, but there are a total of six different ships you can eventually use. And of course, in just one round, it would be impossible to visit the more than 100 different events to be found in the game.
Star Jumper is a good FTL clone offering a really similar experience to the classic roguelike. Obviously it's not a very original game, but it sure is fun.
